HuHot Mongolian Grills, LLC will add six new locations this year, having already opened three, creating more than 700 jobs, according to a press release. The company has also witnessed 3 percent growth in same-store sales.
This year’s growth began when the company’s largest franchisee ownership group, FRC Group, an affiliate of Sun Capital, opened locations in Lawrence, Kansas, followed by a location in Champaign, Illinois. The next opening for the group is in Shawnee, Kansas and in Bloomington, Illinois. There are two additional cities the group is finalizing leases on to open in late 2017 or early 2018.
“These are exciting times for our brand as we continue our balanced approach to growth through franchising and company-owned locations,” Jeff Martin, HuHot COO, said in the press release. “Our concept hits the sweet spot with many consumers today, and we’re motivated to introduce HuHot to new markets across the country.”
The company opened its newest franchise location in May, belonging to Bill Trevorrow in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. HuHot also signed its thirteenth franchise group in May, with plans to open a location in Arizona in the next year.
HuHot is also scheduled to have one of its largest years of company growth. A new company-owned location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is scheduled to open in August, and plans are in the works for additional company locations to open this year in Texas and Utah.
The growth is projected to continue as the chain approaches 100 locations nationwide in the next couple years.
