Chick-fil-A is set to launch its first elevated drive-thru restaurant on Aug. 22 in McDonough, Georgia, south of metro Atlanta.

The Chick-fil-A Jodeco Road location introduces a unique design featuring “four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen with a unique meal transport system. The concept was strategically designed to increase speed-of-service and simplify the drive-thru experience for Guests,” according to the fast-food chain.

Furthermore, the kitchen is twice the size of a standard Chick-fil-A kitchen, and the food conveyor system “allows for a meal to be delivered to a Team Member every six seconds.” Like other drive-thru-only locations for Chick-fil-A, this restaurant does not have a dining room or offer dine-in services.

The restaurant will operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with no dine-in option but a focus on maintaining Chick-fil-A’s renowned hospitality.

“Our Guests lead busy lives, and we’re focused on designing our restaurants to best serve their needs. With the new Elevated Drive-Thru design, featuring our first four lane drive-thru, we’re aiming to deliver quality food and genuine hospitality in a way that’s uniquely Chick-fil-A, and gives our Guests time back in their day.”

The new concept marks the second of two innovative test models from Chick-fil-A this year, following the Mobile Pickup concept introduced in New York City. The four-lane drive-thru is designed to accommodate “two to three times more vehicles” than a standard drive-thru, offering guests the choice to order via the Chick-fil-A App for quick pickup or through traditional drive-thru lanes. Local Owner-Operator Brett Lewis, who has extensive experience with Chick-fil-A, will oversee the new restaurant.

In honor of the new Chick-fil-A, the company is making a $25,000 donation to Feeding America and recognizing 100 local heroes in the community by giving them free Chick-fil-A entrees for a year. The restaurant will also participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, contributing to its local community’s food relief efforts.
