YouTube is updating its channel membership badges, paid product placements, and Shorts draft functionality. Videos under three minutes uploaded after October 15, 2024, will now be categorized as Shorts, though existing content will remain unaffected. Additionally, creators can now upload custom membership badges during the onboarding process and more easily tag both short and long-form videos as sponsored content on mobile. YouTube has also expanded the ability to manage Shorts drafts across Android and iOS, allowing creators to edit multiple drafts at once.
