Triple Five will soon get the roller coasters rolling and the cash registers ringing to re-energize Mall of America, though at a much slower pace than usual.
MOA announced it will re-open its seven-acre Nickelodeon Universe theme park on Aug. 10 after nearly five months of working with Minnesota state officials and the federal government to establish safety protocols for guests. Some of the provisions established:
Only 250 people will be allowed inside the park at the same time, and all must enter through a single gate.
Guests can purchase two-hour tickets for $19.99 plus tax. Non-riders can gain entry for $4.99. All tickets must be purchased on-site. Groups can purchase the entire 250 tickets for three hours inside the park outside of the general operating hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All visitors aged three and older must wear masks except when they are eating and maintain social distancing standards. They must also sanitize their hands before entering any attraction.
Riders will be assigned seats by staff members, who will sanitize attractions after each ride.
“Reopening Nickelodeon Universe – even with significantly reduced capacity – is a positive step forward. This is a process, and we will continue to learn, evaluate, and if needed, enhance this experience in the coming weeks and months,” said Jill Renslow, MOA’s executive VP of marketing.
